How to fill in a PDF form
- Choose a PDF form, or drop it onto the page.
- Click a field on the page and type your answer, or tick a box. Tab takes you to the next field.
- Select Save PDF and download the filled-in form. Turn on Flatten the form first if the answers shouldn’t be changed again.
Questions
Is the form uploaded anywhere?
No. Forms often ask for personal details, so this matters: your browser fills in the PDF on this device, and nothing you type is sent to a server or kept anywhere.
What if my PDF has no fields to type in?
Then it’s a page that looks like a form rather than a fillable one. Choose Text, click where each answer goes and type it. For check boxes, type an X in each box.
What does Flatten the form do?
It turns the fields and your answers into ordinary page content. The form then looks the same in every reader but can’t be changed, which some offices ask for. Leave it off to keep the fields fillable.
Why does it say my form isn’t supported?
Some forms are built with Adobe’s XFA technology instead of standard PDF fields, and only Adobe Acrobat and Reader can fill those in. When a form has standard fields as well, they’re filled here, and the XFA copy is removed so every reader shows your answers.

-
Read text from scans
Make scanned PDFs searchable, with text you can select and copy (OCR). DigiTools can’t do this yet.
-
PDF to Excel
Turn tables in PDFs into spreadsheets you can edit. DigiTools can’t do this yet.
