Questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does all the work on this device. The video is never sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to store, watch or leak.
How much smaller will my video get?
Phone videos often shrink to a third of their size or less with Balanced, and 720p makes them smaller still. Videos that are already compressed shrink less. If the result isn’t smaller, you keep the original.
Which format do I get?
An MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound, which plays on almost every phone, computer and website. If your browser can’t create MP4 files, you get a WebM file (VP9 or VP8 video, Opus sound) instead, and the result says so.
How long does it take?
Compressing re-encodes every frame, so it can take about as long as the video plays, or less on devices with video hardware. Keep this tab open until it’s done; you can cancel at any time.
