Questions
Are my grades sent anywhere?
No. The calculator works in your browser on this device. Your grades are never uploaded or stored, and they’re gone when you close the page.
How is GPA calculated?
Each letter grade is worth points: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on down to F = 0. Multiply each course’s points by its credits, add them up and divide by the total credits. A+ counts as 4.0, as at most schools.
What is a weighted GPA?
Many high schools add points for harder classes: usually 0.5 for Honors and 1.0 for AP or IB, so an A in an AP class counts as 5.0. An F gets no extra points. Colleges often recalculate GPAs their own way.
Is this my official GPA?
It’s an estimate. Your school’s official GPA can differ if it uses another scale, rounds grades or leaves some courses out. For grades out of 10, 20 or 100, the calculator gives the credit-weighted average.
