Questions
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser on this device. Your text is never uploaded or stored, so it’s safe to paste private documents.
Why does text copied from a PDF have so many line breaks?
A PDF stores each line of a page separately, so copying gives you a line break at the end of every line, not just at the end of each paragraph. Plain-text emails are often wrapped the same way.
How are paragraphs kept?
With Keep paragraphs, a blank line marks the end of a paragraph and stays, and every other line break is removed. If your text has no blank lines between paragraphs, it all becomes one paragraph, so add a blank line wherever a paragraph should end.
What happens to words split with a hyphen?
When a line ends with a word cut in two, like “exam-” followed by “ple”, the hyphen goes and the word is joined up again: “example”. A hyphen before a capital letter, as in “Jean-Paul”, stays. Turn off “Join words split with a hyphen” to keep every hyphen.
