Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does all the work on this device. The files are never sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to store, read or leak.
How much smaller will my images get?
It depends on the image. Phone photos often shrink by half or more at the default quality. You see the exact size saved for every file before you download.
Why is my PNG not much smaller?
PNG is a lossless format, so there is little to remove. Choose WebP or JPG as the output to make it much smaller.
Is location data removed?
Yes. Compressed images don’t include hidden metadata such as GPS location, camera model or the date the photo was taken.
