            How to make a quote

            1. Fill in your business and the client the quote is for.
            2. Set the quote number, the date and how long the quote is valid.
            3. Add the work or products with quantities, prices, discounts and taxes.
            4. Download or print it. Saved quotes can be copied into a new one later.

            Questions

What’s the difference between a quote and an estimate?

A quote is usually a fixed price for the work described; an estimate is an informed guess that may change. Both work here: change the title on the document to Estimate if that’s what you’re sending.

How long should a quote be valid?

Often 30 days, so prices and availability can’t drift too far. Choose from 7 to 90 days, or pick a date; the PDF shows the day it runs out.

How does my client accept the quote?

The PDF can end with an acceptance section where your client signs, dates it and sends you a copy. Untick that option if you don’t need it.

Is a quote a tax document?

No. A quote asks for no payment, so it isn’t an invoice. Once the job is agreed, invoice it. In some countries a tax invoice only counts when it’s issued through an official system: in Brazil a nota fiscal (NF-e for goods, NFS-e for services) has to be issued through the official tax systems, in Mexico an invoice with tax value is a CFDI certified by the SAT or an authorized provider, several other Latin American countries work the same way, and Spain is bringing in rules for invoicing software (Verifactu) and electronic invoices between businesses, with dates that have already moved more than once. This tool doesn’t issue those official documents, so check what applies where you work.

            Is anything uploaded?

No. The quote is made in your browser on this device, and your saved quotes, clients and items stay in this browser’s storage only.

            Use DigiTools offline

Keep every tool in English on this device, so they work without an internet connection.

AI models aren’t included: each AI tool downloads its own the first time you use it.
