Questions
Are the teams balanced?
Yes. Team sizes never differ by more than one person: 10 people in 3 teams makes teams of 4, 3 and 3. If you choose people per team, you get the number of teams that comes closest, so 10 people in teams of 3 makes 3 teams.
Can I keep certain people apart or together?
Yes. Open “Keep people apart or together” and type one group per line, with the names separated by commas. People on a “together” line always share a team; people on an “apart” line each go to a different team. If the rules can’t all be met, the page says why.
Is the split really random?
Each split comes from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator. Without rules, every balanced split is equally likely, so nobody is more likely to end up with anyone in particular.
Are the names saved or sent anywhere?
They’re saved only in this browser on your device, in the same lists as the random name picker, so one list serves both. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
