How many hours ahead of PST is EST?
Three. Noon in Los Angeles is 3:00 PM in New York. Both coasts start daylight saving time on the second Sunday in March and end it on the first Sunday in November, so the difference stays 3 hours. The only exception is a few hours in the night of each change, since each coast changes at 2:00 AM its own time.
What do PT and ET mean, and is it PST or PDT now?
PT (Pacific Time) covers both: PST (UTC−8) in winter and PDT (UTC−7) from March to November. In the same way, ET is EST (UTC−5) or EDT (UTC−4). The converter uses the right one for the date you pick and says which.
What are the best hours for a meeting between both coasts?
With 9-to-5 days, the overlap is 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific, which is noon to 5:00 PM Eastern. Mornings on the West Coast and afternoons on the East Coast are the easy part: a 9:00 AM Eastern meeting is 6:00 AM in California.
