Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does all the work on this device. The files are never sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to store, read or leak.
What’s the difference between grayscale and black and white?
Grayscale keeps every shade from black to white, like a classic black and white photo. Black and white here means just two colours: each pixel becomes pure black or pure white, which suits signatures, scanned text, stencils and simple prints.
What does the threshold do?
It decides which pixels become white: the ones lighter than it. Lower it to bring back detail in the shadows; raise it to clean up a grey background on a scan.
Is transparency kept?
Yes, in PNG and WebP images. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.
