Saidwho: guess who said it
A game-show icebreaker for any video call. Everyone answers a few prompts on their own phone or laptop, then the answers come up one at a time, with no names, and the team guesses who wrote each one. Points for good guesses, points for fooling people.
- Formats: “?”
Who said it? Find out together.
Create a room, share the link on your call, and everyone plays on their own phone or laptop. Three or more players, about a minute per answer.
How to play
- Everyone answers the same prompts privately. No names on answers.
- One by one, the answers come up. Guess who said each one.
- Right guesses score, and so does fooling people. The last quarter counts double.

- After the drumroll, see who said it: 2 points for a right guess, and the author gets a point for everyone they fooled. The last quarter counts double.

Questions
How do we play it on a video call?
Start the meeting as usual on Zoom, Teams, Meet or anything else. The host creates a room here and pastes the link in the chat; everyone opens it on their own phone or laptop. For the shared screen, the host opens Presenter view from the menu and shares that window: it shows the answers and scores in big type and never anyone’s private answers.
Does anyone need an account or an app?
No. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install and no sign-up. A name to show the others is all it asks for.
How does scoring work?
A right guess is worth 2 points. The person who wrote the answer gets 1 point for each wrong guess, so a surprising answer pays off. The last quarter of the answers counts double, so whoever is behind can still catch up.
Can people see who wrote an answer before the reveal?
No. Our server never sends an answer’s author to anyone until its result. The author of the answer on show is asked to pick someone too, so the list of who still has to guess gives nothing away.
What goes to your server, and how long is it kept?
For everyone to play together, the names people join with, the answers they write, their guesses and the room’s settings pass through our server to the other players in the room. There are no accounts. A room is deleted, with everything in it, an hour after the last person leaves, and at the latest a day after anyone last did anything in it. We never log names or answers.
What if we’re short on time?
Choose one prompt each and short timers, or turn the timers off and let the host move on when everyone’s ready. Each answer takes under a minute to guess and reveal. Anyone can ask for 30 more seconds once per timer, and the host can add more or turn the timer off at any time.
How many people can play?
From 3 to 16 people, plus up to 4 presenter screens. People can join in the middle of a game, and someone whose connection drops gets their seat and score back when they return.
Is it accessible?
Yes. You can play it entirely with a keyboard, screen readers hear each new answer, result and score, timers are optional and can be extended, and the animations turn into simple fades if your device asks for reduced motion. Sound effects are off unless you turn them on.
