Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does all the work on this device. The files are never sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to store, read or leak.
What if my PDF can’t get under 2 MB?
The tool tries stronger settings one after another and stops at the first one that fits. If none do, you get the smallest version and a note saying so. PDFs that are mostly text can’t shrink much, so splitting them into smaller PDFs is the next step.
Will the text stay sharp?
Yes. Only the photos and scans inside the PDF are compressed. Text, fonts and drawings are untouched.
Does 2 MB mean 1,000 or 1,024?
Sites count it differently, so the tool stays under the smaller number, 2,000,000 bytes, which satisfies both.
