For grown-ups

  • There’s no account and nothing to type. Drawings are never uploaded: everything happens in this browser.
  • Kept on this device only: the drawing in progress, up to 12 creatures on the creature wall, stars, stickers, the daily streak, what’s been unlocked, and whether sound is on.
  • Save picture downloads a PNG file to this device. This page links only to other pages of this site.
  • With reduced motion switched on in the device’s settings, creatures fade gently between poses instead of moving, and nothing ever flashes.
  • A creature takes a few minutes to draw and bring to life, and hanging it on the wall is a natural place to stop.
  • To start again from scratch, press Clear progress: it also takes every creature off the wall.

What you type stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to play Inkwobble

  1. Draw a creature on the paper with a finger, a mouse or a pen. Pick crayons and brush sizes, or tap a stamp and then the paper to add eyes, horns, legs or wings.
  2. Press Bring it to life! Your drawing starts to wobble, and gets googly eyes if it has none.
  3. Tap Hop, Dance, Sneeze or Sleep, choose a scene, then save a picture or hang your creature on the wall.

Questions

What age is Inkwobble for?

It’s made for children aged 6 to 11, and younger ones enjoy it with a grown-up. Drawing starts straight away: there’s nothing to read first, and every button has a picture.

How does the drawing come alive?

Inkwobble turns the drawing into a soft, jelly-like puppet: it cuts the picture into lots of small triangles and gently squashes and stretches them, so the creature bends and bounces as if it were alive. It all happens in the browser.

Can my child draw without dragging, or with a keyboard?

Yes. Stamps and body shapes go on with a single tap or click. With a keyboard, pick a stamp, move around the paper with the arrow keys and press Enter to stick it on; with the crayon, Enter puts the pen down so the arrow keys draw, and Enter again lifts it.

What do the unlocks do?

Every creature brought to life counts. New scenes, stamps and moves join the studio as the count grows, so there’s always something new to try, and nothing is ever taken away.

Where are the pictures kept? Is anything uploaded?

Nothing is uploaded. Save picture downloads a PNG to this device, and the creature wall keeps up to 12 creatures in this browser only. There’s no account and nothing to type. “For grown-ups” on the page can clear it all.
